ANDALUCIAN DREAM

Come l’anno scorso anche la meta di quest’estate è stata la Spagna. Questa volta ci siamo spostati utilizzando solo autobus poiché, a quanto pare, in Andalusia le stazioni ferroviarie sono poche o mancano del tutto! In compenso la linea di bus è ben organizzata e ne partono quotidianamente da ogni città!

SIVIGLIA
Siviglia è famosa per l’Alcazaba e per la sua cattedrale che, effettivamente, merita una visita: mi raccomando, fatevi forza e imponetevi le 34 rampe + 1 di scale per salire fino in cima alla torre in modo da godere della vista mozzafiato su tutta la città! Un’altra segnalazione: non potete non vedere Plaza de España (e il parco limitrofo), dall’aria così veneziana! A me ha lasciato letteralmente a bocca aperta!!!
Per aperitivo consiglio La Corona (un pochino più caro delle solite taperie), dove è giusto farsi travolgere dal gusto della sfiziose tapas ma senza esagerare, così da lasciarsi un po’ di spazio nello stomaco anche per la cena da Enrique Becerro (esattamente a 9 passi dal bar sopracitato!). Dopo cena, attraversando la strada, potete bere un’ottima birra alla Cervecería internacional. In totale tra aperitivo, cena e dopocena avrete compiuto la bellezza di 12 passi! 🙂
Se avete voglia di fare una cenetta nella zona più turistica merita la vineria San telmo (buono, anche se lo stile molto minimal design alla milanese stona un po’ con gli usi dell’andalusia!).

TARIFA
A Tarifa si fa kite surf, non ci sono alternative!
La città antica è deliziosa ma piccolissima, basta un pomeriggio per girarla più o meno tutta.
La giornata tipo che mi sono concessa da vera non sportiva si è svolta nel seguente modo:
Colazione: un giorno al Cafè de la luz un altro al Cafè 10. Si trovano entrambe nella via principale del centro storico e sono entrambe ottimi!! Continuando per la stessa strada si incontrano una quantità indescrivibile di negoziati, tutti molto invitanti. Quelli dove, ahimè, ho fatto più danni sono il Divina Comedia (mi sono innamorata più o meno di ogni abito, borsa, gioiello che ho visto all’interno di questa boutique), La Alpargaterìa (non ho resistito alle coloratissime espadrillas!), e infine Mimì e Lulù
Merenda: l’inconfondibile profumo che proveniva dalla pastelerìa La Tarifeña, mi ha trasportata quasi senza accorgermene all’interno della pasticceria. Da provare la millefoglie con panna, da svenimento!
Aperitivo/cena: sono tantissime e (quasi) tutte buone le “taperie” nel centro storico, in Calle Guzman el bueno ce ne sono tantissime! Tra quelle che ho provato io consiglio sicuramente El Feo. Se avete voglia di un buon pesce vi consiglio il ristorante El Ancla, al porto. E se, invece, volete sentirvi a casa (cucina spagnola con tocco italiano) dovete provare La Burla.
La giornata dello sportivo si svolge in maniera diversa! Fino alla colazione potete seguire il piano n°1 ma poi… di corsa verso la spiaggia! A 5 minuti di macchina dal centro, infatti, si trova il paradiso del kite surf! (raggiungibile tramite bus o taxi)
La scuola dove tutti (tranne me 😉 ops!) hanno fatto lezione è la Kite progress!
Si tengono corsi per tutti i livelli di preparazione e per ogni esigenza (singoli, in gruppo, in spagnolo, italiano, inglese…). Inoltre, alle spalle della chilometrica spiaggia, a fine lezione potrete godervi una birra guardando il sole scendere nel mare comodamente sdraiati su cuscinoni bianchi circondati da tende di lino! GIBILTERRA
Dopo aver superato la dogana che separa La Lìnea de la Concepciòn da Gibilterra ho avuto la netta sensazione di essere stata catapultata d’improvviso a Londra: cabine telefoniche rosse, pound, poliziotti in divisa con tanto di cappello tipico inglese, Top Shop!! Incredibile, davvero 🙂
Gibilterra: terra di realtà parallele! Da “Londra” con 13.00€ si sale in cima alla montagna dove si trova il parco naturale e si viene teletrasportati nella jungla: scimmie in ogni dove! C’è da stare attenti a questi dispettosi animaletti (io ho rischiato la macchina fotografica!).

MALAGA
Ho approfondito la conoscenza di Malaga, città dove ero già stata lo scorso anno, perdendomi per le sue vie piene di palazzi dai colori sgargianti! Diciamo che questa volta mi sono dedicata ad una scoperta eno-gastronomica della città: ho diversi consigli da darvi, ma riguardano tutti solo bar e ristoranti 🙂
Innanzitutto ho cominciato la mia giornata bevendo un bicchiere di pura frutta 100% naturale da El ultimo mono e dopo ho visitato l’Alcazaba che si trova a pochi passi da questo locale così particolare. Per pranzo ho provato un hamburger da urlo da Noviembre tu lugar, un bar che ricordo per i suoi colori sgargianti!
Passeggiando nel pomeriggio mi sono imbattuta in Wonkandy, quello che per me rappresenta “il paese delle meraviglie”: uno dei negozi di caramelle più forniti che io abbia mai visto in tutta la mia vita! Cioccolata, lecca lecca, caramelle, marshmallows… c’era qualunque cosa attenti al nostro sorriso!
Da vera blogger avrei dovuto fare lo sforzo di cercare diversi ristoranti per le due sere trascorse a Malaga, ma dopo aver provato El Meson de Cervantes ho deciso di interrompere la mia ricerca: sono stata lì due sere di seguito! I motivi sono diversi: gambas robasadas (gamberi fritti con miele), pesce spada, jamon serrano e, last but not least, la torta di mele con gelato alla vaniglia e spolverata di cannella (rapporto qualità/prezzo fantastico).

Like last year, also this summer my destination was Spain. This time we travelled only by bus because it seems that in Andalusia there are few railway stations! At least the bus line is well organized and every day there are buses from every city!

SIVIGLIA
Siviglia is famous for the Alcazaba and its cathedral which, indeed, is worth visiting: come and climb those 34+1 flights of stairs up to the tower at the top and enjoy the breath-taking view of the city! Another piece of advice: go and see Plaza de España (and the adjacent park), which resembles Venice! It literally left me open-mouthed!
If you want to have cocktails hour, I suggest you go to La Corona (a little more expensive than the usual taperia), where you will be overwhelmed by the taste of delicious tapas but don’t exaggerate, because you need to leave room for dinner at Enrique Becerro (exactly 9 steps from La Corona). After dinner, if you just cross the street, you can drink an excellent beer at Cervecería internacional. The bonus is that happy hour, dinner and after-dinner are all within a few metres of each other! If you prefer to have dinner in the more touristic zone, it’s worth going to Vineria San Telmo (good, even though the minimal design, similar to the one I’m used to in Milan, clashes a little with the Andalusian traditions).

TARIFA
In Tarifa kite-surfing is a must….or rather, the only option.
The old town is delightful but very small and you can see almost everything in just one afternoon. My standard day as a true non-sportswoman was like this:
Breakfast: on the first day at Cafè de la luz and the second day at Cafè 10. They both are situated on the main street in the historic center and they’re both excellent! If you keep going down the same street you come across an incredible number of little shops, all very tempting. Those where, alas, I “sinned” were Divina Comedia (I fell in love more or less with every dress, bag, piece of jewellery I saw in this boutique), La Alpargaterìa (I couldn’t resist the colourful espadrillas), and, last but not least, Mimì e Lulù.
Afternoon snack: the unique fragrance coming from pastelerìa La Tarifeña dragged me inside, almost without noticing it. You have to try the millefoglie pastry with cream, absolutely unforgettable.
Cocktails/dinner: there are a lot of good “taperie” in the historic center and in Calle Guzman el bueno there are so many of them! Among those I tried, I advise El Feo. If you want to eat fish I suggest you go to El Ancla restaurant, at the harbour. If, instead, you want to feel more at home (spanish cuisine with an italian touch) you must try La Burla.
The standard day of the sportsman is totally different! For breakfast you can follow plan 1 but then… run to the beach! 5 minutes by car from the center is the paradise of kite surf (which you can reach by bus or taxi)!
The school where everyone (except me, ops!) had lessons is Kite progress!
There are courses for every level and different needs (single lesson, group, in spanish, italian, english…). Furthermore, behind the miles long beach, after your lesson you can enjoy a beer while watching the sunset, comfortably lying on big white cushions, surrounded by linen awnings! Is there anything better?

GIBRALTAR
After passing the customs that divide La Lìnea de la Concepciòn from Gibraltar, I felt like I was suddently being thrown into London: the red telephone boxes, pounds, policemen with the classical British uniform, Top Shop!! Incredible!
Gibraltar: land of parallel realities! From this “London” for 13€ you can go to the top of the mountain where there is a nature park and you feel like teleported into the jungle: monkeys everywhere! But you have to watch out because these little animals are naughty (one tried to steal my camera!).

MALAGA
I had already been in Malaga last year and this summer I had the chance to get to know it better, while getting lost in the streets full of bright coloured buildings! Let’s say that this time I dedicated myself to an eno-gastronomical discovery of the city and I have several advice but all just about cafès and restaurants.
First of all, I started my day drinking a glass of pure fruit, 100% natural, at El ultimo mono and after that I visited the Alcazaba, which is just a few steps away from this peculiar cafè. At lunch I had a delicious hamburger at Noviembre tu lugar, a cafè that I will remember for its bright colours!
In the afternoon, while wandering, I bumped into Wonkandy, my ideal wonderland: one of the most well-supplied candy shops I’ve ever seen in all my life! Chocolate, popsicles, candies, marshmallows… There was everything that can harm our teeth!
As a true blogger, I should have made the attempt to find different restaurants for the two evenings spent in Malaga but after trying El Meson de Cervantes I decided to suspend my research and go there both evenings! There are different reasons: gambas robasadas (fried prawns with honey), swordfish, jamon serrano and, last but not least, apple pie with vanilla ice-cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon (excellent quality/price ratio).
