BIG&LITTLE’S!

E’ vero, l’Italia è senza dubbio il paese con la miglior cucina del mondo… ma in America c’è qualcosa che in nessun altro posto si può trovare: la varietà estrema!!!!
Da quando sono qui cammino tantissimo per scoprire tutti quegli angoli un po’ nascosti di questa meravigliosa città e quando diventa ora di pranzo e mi fermo a pensare dove mangiare la scelta spazia dall’indiano, al messicano, al vietnamita, all’hamburger, al giapponese… l’elenco potrebbe andare avanti per ore.
In ogni punto di Chicago in cui mi trovo posso scegliere quale cucina mangiare tra quelle di tutto il mondo!
Uno dei posti che in assoluto preferisco qui è Big & Little’s (ci sono già stata due volte e spero di tornarci prima di partire 🙂 …)!
Il locale è molto casual, coloratissimo e sempre affollato (soprattutto da americani).
Perché lo consiglio? Perché da Big & Little’s si possono provare i vari sapori del mondo  racchiusi in una tortilla. Mi spiego meglio: il loro menù prevede tortilla, hamburger, fritture, tacos, panini farciti con diverse specialità come l’ananas dell’Hawaian Burger, l’agnello del Middle Eastern Gyro, le short ribs del Japaneese taco!
Il valore aggiunto di questo piccolo locale è la simpatia dei due proprietari che, dopo aver scoperto la mia provenienza, mi hanno trattata come una principessa facendomi assaggiare tutte le loro specialità tra cui uno dei migliori hamburger che io abbia mai provato… la carne era di una tenerezza estrema!
Il motivo per cui si chiama Big & Little’s? Lo scoprirete solo dopo aver conosciuto i proprietari 😉

It’s true, Italian cuisine is one of the best all over the world… but in USA you find something that you can’t find anywhere else: the extreme variety!!!!
Since I’ve been here I’ve been walking around to find all those hidden places of this great city. When lunch time comes and I need to choose where I want to eat, the choice is wide among Indian, Mexican, Vietnameese, Hamburger, Japaneese… this list can go on and on! No matter where I am in the city, I can satisfy any craving for any country cuisine!
One of my favourite place here is Big & Little’s (I’ve been there twice and hope to go there one more time before I leave 😉 ..)!
The restaurant is really casual and colourful, and always croweded by locals who work or live nearby.
Why do I suggest it? Because at Big & Little’s you can taste different flavours from all over the world enclosed in one tortilla.
I’ll explain: their menu encludes tortilla, hamburger, sandwiches, tacos characterized by different specialties like the pineapple in the Hawaian Burger, the lamb in the Middle Eastern Gyro and the Japaneese short ribs tacos.
The cherry on the pie of this little restaurant is the owners’ kindness. As soon as they discovered I was Italian, they treated me like a princess! I was albe to try many of their specialties, one of those was an amazing hamburger with the most tender meat I’ve ever eaten.
The reason why it is called Big & Little’s? You’ll know as soon as you meet the two owners! 🙂
